The Last Day

It is with mixed emotions the 19th St. Jacobs Quilt Shows The 50th anniversary Home Hardware Quilt moved to New Hamburg for the relief sale last night. It has left a void...visitors loved the creativity, use of ties and all the stories. The Merchant's Mall also closed last night. There is plenty to enjoy in the Village today..even sunshine and warmth. Thanks for supporting this wonderful event.

St. Jacobs was rocking! Many visitors came to St. Jacobs to enjoy the many quilting venues. Rave reviews were heard for the trunk show, lunch at the Quilter's Cafe held at St. James Lutheran Church, Ron's willingness to help everybody and the pansies at the schoolhouse. ...and two left!!!
What a fun day

Wednesday 28 May 2014

International visitors admired the quilts and interior decorating at the Schoolhouse as guests of Marion Martin. Two of the ladies had taught classes in Ailsa Craig last week and Chantal Guillermet from France who will be teaching classes this week at the  St. Jacobs Mennonite Church. What a treat to appreciate their enthusiasm.

Volunteer Tea 2014

'The Volunteer Tea'  kick-started,' The Quilt and Fibre Art Festival Waterloo Region and Beyond.' The atmosphere was filled with 'friendly warmth', big smiles and lots of chatter. Sue Parker decorated the tea room tables with lots of information about the history of St. Jacobs. Of course the delicious tea and wonderful treats added to the delight of the evening.
